TechMeme is no longer a fully automated aggregator
People may have very different reactions with this news but I already considered about this before and have no surprise. GocNhin.com is a Vietnamese TechMeme clone I have been working on and from very first time we thought about a backend section for editors.

Automated news doesn’t work perfectly for sure. I have experienced with this. You can see a clear example in the screenshot of GocNhin.com at such a damn moment.
Well, I agree with Gabe Rivera
Humans can’t possibly discover and organize news as fast as computers can. But too often the lack of real intelligence leads to really unintelligent results.
He had to face what we did. We have been innovating our technology to improve quality of results. But when the automation reachs a certain degree and innovation in technology can’t help much in a short time, the clearer way is building tools to edit the results directly and manually. Anyway we don’t edit much. The system has been doing very well in recognizing hot topics and rising trends in both official media and social media. We just hide something looks too stupid.
ePi.Longo also wrote an article about this in Baomoi’s blog. I am really curious how they’re going to innovate their product. Let’s wait and see.
